In order for your Tru Extensions hair extensions to last as long as possible (up to a year), we recommend the following tips to care for your new hair.
You should wash and deep condition your hair at least once a week.
- Use mild shampoo that is paraben-free.
- Deep condition once a week and allow the hair to sit with conditioner on for at least 15 minutes.
- When detangling hair, always start at the ends to prevent damage and shedding.
- Do not blow dry, only air dry or use a hooded dryer.
- Do not use hair glue on wefts (the part of the extension that has threads at the top to attach hair together).
- Do not perm hair. You can perm hair if you would like but we recommend that you don’t do so.
- Let hair completely dry before applying heat (flat irons, curling irons, etc.).
- Do not use oils.
- For our curly textures, hair moose helps to hold beautiful defined curls all day and with shine.
- When creating your natural hairline with a closure, plucking hairs from the base and to prevent damage tugging at the lace.
- Sleep in satin scarfs or with a bonnet for less friction when sleeping on cotton pillows. This will minimize hair breakage and split ends.
